It's habit from long years of being up at dawn in the army. I doubt anyone envies me that.

Some of them might sympathize. There's more than a few soldiers around here.

And they probably don't need coffee either.

I'd welcome that. Does it ever come warm, at least?

It does in the winter when we prefer warm drinks. I suppose it depends on where we are and how they do things, but it would be interesting to see nonetheless. Especially with bees having access to far different flowers than they do in my homeland.

Do the different flowers make a difference? Get some lavender honey or something?

Yes, they change the flavor a little. Some taste tangier, sharper, sweeter. It all depends. And that in turn affects the mead.

I've been without mead for too long. Here's hoping we luck out.
