Wonder what his regret is. What does an Angel of the Lord have to regret? They're not built for feefees.

[The idea is just a little strange, in a way she tries not to focus on too closely.]

But if I remember correctly there's a lot of flaming swords and brimstone falling from the sky in those stories. Maybe he's feeling bad for following some of those old orders.

That's true. He probably smote some people or cities and regrets it.

[ Cas was - in the beginning - a tool.

But they learned and evolved and now here they are. ]

[That doesn't sound real. Natasha is fairly sure that can't be real.

[ He doesn't think Cas did the smiting there, but he could be wrong. There's a lot he doesn't know about the angel. ]

You know when you put it that way, you start to wonder how someone who's been around that long could narrow it down to one.

[Standing aside and watching all of Biblical history onward is a hell of a lot of time to rack up regrets.]

How do you think he'll handle all of this.

Yeah, seriously. A billion year old angel has to pick one regret? Wow.

[ then again cas' perception is probably skewed (brainwashing does that). ]

[Offering her glass for a refill, her attention staying on Dean's face.]

[ He refills it with gusto, two thirds of the way full, then refilling his. ]

[Or whatever they're drinking about, if it's not one of those. Natasha doesn't need to be an expert in microexpressions to tell Dean's got concerns.]

[ He sure does. An angel of the Lord all pissed off on a station? Like, he's happy Cas is here, but also he'd prefer Cas be home where he belongs, not screwing around with a regret so strong it's pulled him here. ]

[Wryly amused, but there's a gentleness in it. Sympathy. Having a friend show up here was a mixed blessing, at best.]

I...don't think so. I guess if you run into him, say hi. He's sort of antisocial.

[Giving him a challenging look. He might not be entirely wrong, but she's not going to let that get by without a little ribbing.]

Does that mean you and him are a lot alike?

[ He's grinning, though he has to think on that about Cas. ]

I wouldn't say a lot. He's rebellious, impulsive...competitive. So I guess we've got that in common. But he's pretty naïve, too.

[She somehow doubts that warning will be received.]

I suppose an angel ought to be naive.

Yeah, he can't help it. But he's learning. He rebelled against heaven to help save the world, so that's a good start. Don't always gotta follow the orders your daddy sets for you.

Is god really his daddy? Is that how the whole religion thing works?

There's still a lot of shit I don't know anything about. You'll have to ask him about the Jesus thing.

But yeah I guess God is technically his dad. All the angels call him that, even if he's disappeared and hasn't been around for who knows how long. He created them, so...yeah.

Not sure that's a question I need answered. No wonder he has issues though.

[That's a hell of a way to end up with daddy issues.]
