(sighs) If this were Facebook and I was asked to rate my relationship with S.H.I.E.L.D., I would check "It's complicated" without hesitation. (nods) I'll give them the basics, then. Get a feel and let you know anything worth relaying. Is the information easily accessible to copy?
[ She waves out a hand, silently prompting Natasha to buy said drink but verbally adding -- ] Mine has a preference for energy drinks, so I'll let you choose something worthy enough.
[ It's fitting, for how much of a trainwreck the poor guy can be. ]
[ She wrinkles her nose and adamantly shakes her head. ] Even though I'm fortunate enough to not experience the crash that comes with it, the closest I could compromise would be the Starbucks ones.
[ Snorting, Natalia raises what's left of her own drink and declares -- ] To something a little more alcoholic! [ -- before knocking the contents back. Here's hoping the serum holds up and keep intoxication at bay. ]
[Natasha comes back with two shots of something that looks like knock off Wild Turkey, and the stubborn determination that is she gets a little drunk, it won't be that drunk.
[ She puckers her lips after following suit, turning the glass upside down on the table. Natalia saw the reaction at using 'little spider' for her other self, but she doesn't pursue it. With Natasha and the others, they're terms of endearment, each word specifically chosen for those she cares about. ]
How many people do we want to bring on board with this?
I expect nothing less. Pearce too, probably. Kenney is a tech genius, but so's Stark. Aiden could vouch for Ray, you could vouch for Tony, so it'd be a matter of which man is the wiser choice, if we even can use their skill set.
[ Somehow use the Network, any radio or television transmissions if those exist in the suburbs. ]
When it comes to the healing factor, that's where Wilson, Odinson, Barnes, Rogers, and I come in, but I realize that there are others here; supernatural others, magical others. I just haven't cast my circle that widely.
[ It dawns on the redhead that said circle is mostly male, save for Natalia and possibly Waverly. ]
Tony just got here. I'm hesitant to drag him in immediately.
[He also would have one of the biggest egos to wrangle, it goes without saying.]
But he'd probably want to be involved. So there's that to consider.
[Which brings them to two other recent arrivals...]
Wanda also just recently arrived. I don't know what state she's or if she's ready to be dragged into the conversation, but if we need a hitter. [By which she means muscle, not a killer.] Not just her, but Danvers.
[A pause, because that's not a name that's come up before in their conversations. Not that she remembers.]
[ Her points are Natalia's concerns voiced, and she confirms that. ]
I agree, which is why I'd go with Kenney over Stark if ever that path needs treading. Danvers is absolutely someone we want around. I can't think of a time when she ever went dark.
[ Which leaves the Witch. ]
But Maximoff...I can't trust her. I have no idea what yours is capable of, or what she's done to your world, but the Wanda from my universe is dangerous and destructive. She once altered the reality of the entire universe because of a mental breakdown. She depowered mutants, and is one of the very few things that can stand a chance against the Phoenix Force.
[ Nat shakes her head, uncomfortable with the idea of bringing the chaotic witch into the fold. ]
She's definitely the most powerful of us. If he hadn't already had five of the infinity stones, she would have been able to defeat Thanos on her own... But I think that's more than a little beyond her scope.
[At least in Natasha's experience.]
I trust her, but I can respect if that's not something we can put on the table at this point.
It'd still like to have someone with a little more power behind us. Thor is an option, but I'm not sure how much he trusts me at the moment.

[ Easy for people like them, that is. ]
no subject
[A shrug, her lips pursed slightly.]
Agent Fitz has a habit of underestimating the intelligence of field agents.
no subject
[ Feeling very much like a metrodome, Natalia slides back into Barton territory. ]
With Clint; would it help you if we celebrated his birthday?
no subject
[It might. Or it might make it worse. At this point, she's honestly hard pressed to say.]
It might be nice to do something in his honor, though.
A toast?

[Clint was more of a good beer kind of a guy. Not cheap, but he didn't need to be fancy either.]
I'm sure we can find a whiskey his level.

[Someone has to have standards. And it's not going to be him.]

[Which is to say, coffee mostly.]
But right now, we'll go for something a little more alcoholic.

She's always had a high tolerance.]

[ Cheeky bitch is cheeky, and Natalia winks with the ghost of a smile while raising the shot in waiting. ]

[It might not strictly speaking be true. But when have they stood on that.]

To Clint.
[She throws back the shot.]
And to us.

How many people do we want to bring on board with this?
[ Whatever the 'this' evolves into. ]
no subject
[But that also means limiting their resources.]

[ With too many alphas, leadership roles were cause for egos and dominance that only hindered. ]
You're the veteran, so I'll default to your direction.

It's one more load she doesn't need to carry.]
Barnes will want to be involved.
[And he'll know how to keep his voice where it needs to be.]
Otherwise, we can put together a list. I can think of a few others.

Carol. I just assume you have a Captain Marvel.

[ Just because Talia's Scarlet Witch is unhinged doesn't necessarily mean Tasha's is.
LOL WandaVision]What's going on with Thor? Anything I can help with there?
[ She still hasn't conversed with this Thor, yet. Too many 'yets'. ]
